Jimmy Heath House is a 25-unit permanent supportive housing development that revitalized five historic, formerly vacant buildings in Over-the-Rhine. Opened in 2010, the project is grounded in the Housing First approach, prioritizing stable housing as a foundation for long-term wellbeing.

The building serves individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness, particularly those who have faced significant barriers in traditional systems and often cycle between the streets, shelters, hospitals, and the justice system. By providing a permanent home alongside comprehensive, on-site support services, Jimmy Heath House helps residents stabilize their lives and move forward with greater security and independence.

The development includes amenities designed to foster community and support daily living, including a 24-hour staffed front desk, a large community room, and an outdoor courtyard.

Named in honor of Jimmy Heath, a local artist, photographer, friend, and advocate. The property reflects a lasting commitment to dignity, creativity, and community.

Over-the-Rhine Community Housing developed the project in partnership with 3CDC, with supportive services provided on-site by Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCB). An Employment Support Program has also been introduced to help residents address barriers to employment and access new opportunities.
