Spaeth and Kelly Hall is a permanent supportive housing development that transforms two existing buildings at 27–29 W. 12th Street into a modern, service-enriched living environment for individuals who have experienced homelessness and mental illness. The project renovates aging single-room-occupancy (SRO) buildings—previously home to 55 units—into 30 thoughtfully designed efficiency apartments that offer greater independence, privacy, and dignity.

The redevelopment preserves the site’s long-standing role as supportive housing while updating it to better meet residents’ needs. The new design includes a secured, 24-hour staffed entrance, a resident lounge, shared kitchen, laundry facilities, and dedicated space for case management and property operations. These features are intended to support daily stability while creating opportunities for connection and access to care.

During construction, current residents were temporarily relocated to other Tender Mercies properties, including Slater Hall, with the opportunity to return upon completion. On-site supportive services and case management continue to be provided by Tender Mercies and partner organizations.

Completed at the end of 2025, with residents moving in during early 2026, Spaeth and Kelly Hall represents a renewed investment in supportive housing—ensuring individuals have not only a stable place to live, but a space designed to support long-term wellbeing.
